afrottire and afrottire for Tailors
Terms of use
In short: afrottire is for adults. Nothing is sold or paid for inside the apps. Measurements are estimates, and your tailor confirms the fit. A tailor's customer book belongs to the tailor, and we keep it for them. During the pilot the service is provided as it is. Nigerian law applies.
About these terms
afrottire is a product of Jabajenko Technologies Ltd, a company registered in Nigeria (address: Lagos, Nigeria), called “we” or “us” here. These terms cover our two apps, afrottire for customers and afrottire for Tailors for tailors and designers, and this website. By using them you agree to these terms.
How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy notices. They are part of these terms. If these terms and a privacy notice ever seem to disagree about personal data, the privacy notice applies.
Both apps are in pilot testing with invited testers. Some things described here may change before the apps open to everyone, and we will update these terms when they do.
Adults only
You must be 18 or over to have an account, to sign in or to measure in either app.
Children do not use afrottire on their own. In the customer app, a parent or guardian measures a child with a tape and orders for them. In afrottire for Tailors, a tailor measures a child in person, with a tape, with the parent there. Never photograph a child to measure them.
Your account
The customer app signs you in with your phone number and a one-time code. afrottire for Tailors signs you in with your email address and a one-time code. There is no password.
Give us correct details, keep your phone and your email account secure, and never share a sign-in code with anyone. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
No payments in the apps
You cannot pay for anything inside either app, and neither app sells anything.
afrottire for Tailors keeps a record of the prices, deposits and payments you type in. These are your own records: afrottire does not hold, move or collect money for you or your customers.
afrottire for Tailors is free during the pilot. If we offer paid features later, they will be sold on our website, never inside the app, and we will tell you clearly before anything costs money.
Measurements are estimates
afrottire works out body measurements from two photos with a computer model, or records measurements taken with a tape. Measurements from photos are estimates, and any measurement can be wrong.
The tailor confirms every measurement, and the fit, before cutting. A customer can always ask the tailor to measure them instead. We are not responsible for how a garment fits.
Tailors and orders
Tailors and designers are independent businesses. They make the clothes, and they are responsible for their work, their prices and their delivery dates.
Our full terms of sale for orders placed in the customer app are still being written. We will publish them here before the customer app opens in the stores.
Try-on pictures
afrottire does not offer try-on pictures today. If it ever does, a try-on picture will be made by a computer to show what a style looks like. It shows the style, not the fit: the fit comes from your measurements and your tailor.
Tailors: your customers' details
Your customer book is yours. You decide who and what goes in it, so you are responsible for your customers' details (under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 you are the controller). Before you add someone, make sure they agree to you keeping their details. Use their details only to serve them, and delete a customer when they ask you to.
afrottire stores and processes your customer book on your behalf (as your processor). We will:
- use it only to run afrottire for you: to keep it safe and the same on your phones, to make the links you send work, and to show the designs you send to the afrottire shop;
- follow your instructions, given through the app;
- never sell it, show adverts with it, or use it for anything else;
- let only the small team that runs afrottire see it, and only to keep the service working or when you ask for help;
- keep it with the service providers named in the privacy notice (Google Cloud in the USA runs our servers);
- protect it as the privacy notice describes, and tell you without delay if we learn of a breach that affects it;
- help you answer a customer who asks to see, correct or delete their details;
- delete it from our servers within 30 days when you delete your account.
Every link you send tells your customer who will receive their details, and asks them to agree first. Do not send a customer's link to anyone else. Children are measured by you, with a tape, never through a link or a photo.
Designs you send to the afrottire shop must be your own work, or work you have the right to show. You allow us to show them, with the details you give, in the afrottire shop.
Acceptable use
Do not use afrottire to:
- break the law, or help anyone else to;
- photograph or measure anyone without their agreement, or photograph a child to measure them;
- add people's details, or send them links or messages, when they have not agreed to it;
- upload pictures or designs you do not have the right to use, or anything offensive, misleading or unlawful;
- pretend to be someone else;
- get into another person's account, or try to break, overload or copy the service, its data or its measuring model.
We may remove content, or pause or close an account, that breaks these terms. Unless the law or safety prevents it, we will tell you why.
Your content
What you put in afrottire (your measurements, your customer book, your photos and your designs) stays yours. You allow us to store it, copy it between your phones and our servers, and show it where the app says it will be shown, only so that we can provide afrottire to you.
afrottire itself, its apps, its measuring model, its name and its look belong to Jabajenko Technologies Ltd.
Deleting your account
You can stop using afrottire and delete your account at any time. In afrottire for Tailors, tap More, then Delete my account, or use app.afrottire.com/tailor/delete. Customers can delete measurement sets in the app, and close their account by emailing privacy@afrottire.com.
What is deleted, and when, is set out on Delete your account and in the privacy notices.
The pilot is provided as it is
During the pilot, afrottire is provided “as is” and “as available”. It may have mistakes, it may sometimes be unavailable, and features may change or be removed. Keep your own copy of anything important: afrottire for Tailors can export your whole book at any time.
As far as the law allows, we give no promises about afrottire beyond those in these terms and the privacy notices, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or the fit of a garment.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Nigerian law that cannot be taken away, including your rights under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. Each version has a number and a date, shown at the top of this page. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies. If you keep using afrottire after that, the new terms apply.
Nigerian law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, please contact us first and we will try to put it right. If we cannot, the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, will decide.
